About the Exam
- NEET-UG is a national-level exam for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and nursing programs in India and abroad.
- Conducted by the NTA on behalf of the MoHFW, Government of India.
- Results are used for seat allocation by the Directorate General of Health Services and State Counselling Authorities.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Passed or appearing in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects.
- Minimum marks: 50% (UR), 40% (OBC/SC/ST/PWD).
Age Criteria:
- Must be 17 years old by December 31, 2025 (born on or before 31.12.2007).
- No upper age limit.
Attempts:
- No limit on the number of attempts.
Exam Pattern
- Mode: Offline (pen-and-paper-based).
- Total Questions: 200 MCQs (180 to be attempted).
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany + Zoology).
- Sections:
- Section A: 35 mandatory questions.
- Section B: 15 questions (attempt any 10).
- Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes.
- Marking: +4 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect answers.
